Polly Carpenter / Co-Founder

For over 30 years, Polly has managed her multi-disciplinary creative agency, Carpenter Group, located in a spacious loft overlooking the water towers of SoHo, NYC. She has been involved in the launch of many of the country’s best known financial services and insurance brands in areas such as asset management, retail distribution, advisor platforms, wealth management, alternative investments, retirement and annuities, resulting in many billions of assets raised. Polly attended Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, Maine, and graduated with a B.F.A. from the Rhode Island School of Design and co-heads the NY RISD alumni chapter. Polly is our business brains and keeps us all in line.


Dee Dunn / Co-Founder

A cultural producer and educator, Dee has worked with the Smithsonian Institution, the Philip Johnson Glass House, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, the Buckminster Fuller Institute, the Rubin Museum, among other organizations. Dee's expertise is launching organizations, experiences, cross-disciplinary programs, partnerships and products that promote positive engagement and stimulate creative leadership and action. Dee was the founding Director of America: Now and Here, a pioneering venture to position art (including music, film, poetry, theater and visual art) as a catalyst for civil dialogue in communities across the USA. She was Director of Education at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum, Smithsonian Institution, where her innovations earned her the inaugural Smithsonian Education Achievement Award. Dee is our connection to the creative community and in charge of user acquisition.


Chuck Routhier / Co-Founder

Chuck brings more than 25 years of design experience in both the digital and analog world. For the past three years Chuck was creative director of Swipp, a web and iOS app where he developed the branding and marketing as well as product and design development and UX/UI design of both the consumer app and the suite of business apps. He has also worked on comprehensive branding programs for Hertz, Blackberry, Burger King, Capital One, Clairol, Lipitor, Maxwell House, Morgan Stanley, Cetaphil, Song Airlines and Thomas’s. Chuck’s role is product development and UI/UX design and all things graphic.


Jennifer Routhier / Co-Founder

Jen is a seasoned brand strategist who develops compelling and meaningful stories for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. Her expertise includes naming, voice and messaging, creative strategy and employee engagement.

Jen began her career at the New York office of Landor Associates, where she led engagements for clients including Verizon, Capital One, and Sephora. Jen is our strategic branding and communications leader.

Sherlen Archibald / Advisor

Sherlen Archibald is a partner at AGW Group, a cultural marketing and communications firm that connects brands with consumers through passion points such as art, music, style and tech. Clients include brands such as Red Bull, Soho House and Target.

Mr. Archibald started early in the entertainment industry as a classical pianist graduating to contemporary music through working projects at Universal Classics, MTV and Sony BMG. It was at SonyBMG , he would cut his teeth, handling communications and marketing for artists such as Usher, Jamie Foxx and Mario, while working with a myriad of fashion and music publications such as Interview, FADER, iD Magazine, Rollingstone and VOGUE amongst others.


Pablo Freund / Advisor

Pablo Freund is a committed problem solver, change maker and social entrepreneur based in Brooklyn, NY. Throughout the years, Pablo has collaborated with many entrepreneurs in various capacities. . His passion is to combine his expertise in finance and management with whole-systems approaches and design, devising strategies that unlock unexpected and extraordinary potential. Pablo is currently the Co-Founder and COO of Be Girl.

Prior to founding Be Girl, Pablo was Managing Director at the Buckminster Fuller Institute where he focused on building the institutional resources and tools to help individuals drive forward strategies to build a world that works for 100% of humanity. 

Mahmoud El Hamamsy / CFO

Mahmoud is a Managing Director and Founder of TVM Associates, LLC, a management consulting firm that assists clients in capitalizing on their market opportunities. Prior to TVM, he spent 21 years at AT&T, starting at Bell Labs and progressing as one of the leaders of the M&A team that helped AT&T get into the Wireless business and launch its online services business. After AT&T he became CEO of ModelWire, an online business that facilitates transactions for the Fashion industry. At ModelWire he raised the seed funds, implemented control systems and managed the company through its development and growth stages.

Mahmoud holds a PhD in Physics from the City University of New York and an MBA in Finance/Accounting from New York University. He has 11 patents.


Obviously Social / Social Media Marketing

Mae Karwowski is the owner of Obviously Social. She directs the social media strategy, web, app development and community management for clients in across all industries, including ecommerce and education. Before founding Obviously Social, Mae directed social media for Gilt City, part of Gilt Groupe, and oversaw social execution for clients such as Bravo, JCPenney, Coca Cola, UGG and Alamo Rent-A-Car with the agency 360i. She attended St Paul’s School and then matriculated at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with honors and a B.A. in Philosophy.

Lauren Mangiaforte is a copywriter and communications strategist. Before joining forces with Obviously Social, she worked as a freelance writer, branding specialist, and social consultant for clients such as AOL, NewsCred, The Huffington Post, Trish McEvoy, and Bark! (A Creative Agency). Hailing from Chicagoland, Lauren is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College (Notre Dame, IN) and holds a master’s from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. Her first novel, The Boys Who Wouldn’t Grow Up, was published in November 2013.

superscript / writing, editing, research, strategy, programming

Superscript is a New York-based editorial consultancy specializing in writing, editing, and content strategy across a broad range of media channels and platforms. Superscript finds new, effective ways of communicating ideas to broad audiences through accessible and engaging publications and programming. Recent work has included projects for MoMA, the Museum of Arts and Design, and the 2014 Venice Architectural Biennale. In 2012, Superscript was named an “American Influencer” in architecture and design media by Surface magazine.

Nathan Richardson / Advisor

Nathan Richardson is a well-known technology & digital entrepreneur. Currently, he is building Trading Ticket, LLC, a patent pending technology that enables online trading with customer’s existing brokerage accounts from any publisher site. He co-founded #waywire with Mayor Cory Booker.  Prior to #waywire, he built, launched and served as the President of Gilt City, a subsidiary of Gilt Groupe, Inc. Nathan also led the launch of GiltMAN. He was the C.E.O. of ContentNext Media, where he led the sale to Guardian Media/UK. Nathan served as the Head of DowJones Online, where he oversaw Marketwatch,, and several other vertical sites. He spent several years building, growing and leading Yahoo! Finance into the number-one online finance and business destination, the site named most influential by Institutional Investor. Nathan was part of the original team at DotBank prior to its sale to Yahoo; was as an Emerging Markets Associate with Citibank in Istanbul, Warsaw, Johannesburg and Jeddah; and served as the Country Director for the International Rescue Committee in Liberia. Earlier in his career he served a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal.  Nathan serves as a board member with Caribe Media Inc., and as an advisor to several early stage venture backed companies.
